About access to restricted areas of the site
Much of this website is available to the public, but some parts of it are meant to be viewable only by Homeowners and Residents of the Villas at the Boulders community. But how do we identify residents?
Access is controlled by email address. The list of email addresses able to get into controlled areas initially came from the list maintained by Keystone Pacific for their website. You provide that email address to Keystone, and it is used as your official contact email. That official contact email address is authorized on our website.
Managing access to our site is delegated to Google -- they have very extensive security protections developed by a large capable staff, and we do not want to take the risk of trying to manage passwords ourselves -- that would be very risky. So like many sites do, we delegate authentication and authorization to google. When you try to enter a restricted area, you are obliged to supply your official contact email address, and the password or passkey which google has recorded for it.
How does google know your password? You must have a "google account" with your official contact email address. This sounds hard, but if your official contact email address is a gmail address then you already have this. And if you have an android phone, then you also already have a google account.
If you don't have a google account in the name of your official contact email, creating one is easy, quick and free to set up. It doesn't matter if it is a gmail, hotmail, apple or some other kind of email address. Any email address can have an associated google account.
To sign in to google just go to google.com in your browser, and click sign in. If the email address you use to sign in is in our list of "members" then you will automatically be able to see everything on the website, and you will be able to see the shared files.
