You can recommend a plumber, ask for opinions about schools, sell tickets to a raffle, invite people to a dog show, ask for help moving your couch, solicit donations for the high school -- whatever you like. 

It clearly will be of no use at all unless people really use it. It has a capability I could turn on which would cause your post to go to the email address for your street - so everybody gets your post in their email, and you get all their posts in your email. Would that be a good thing?
