The Covenants and Bylaws establish a Board of Directors, consisting of 5 unpaid, volunteer homeowners serving a term of 2 years. If you are interested, you could volunteer to Volunteer to run for the Board of Directors.
Several critical standing committees of the board have specific duties:
The Architectural Review Committee ('The ARC'), reviews all homeowner requests for any modification to the exterior of any unit. ARC Membership is by invitation, but you may volunteer to be part of the ARC committee.
The Landscape Beautification Committee ('The LBC') manages our grounds: trees, bushes, plantings, and maintenance of the supporting infrastructure, such as the irrigation system. Being on the LBC is a brains job, not a brawn job. LBC members meet, discuss, set policy, select plantings. Volunteer to join the LBC committee. There is a separate LBC Weekend Workgroup that pitches in to actually work on the landscape.
The LBC Weekend Workgroup has a relatively larger number of members, and on any given weekend some subset who are available may pitch in on a weekend project: removing a dead or dying bush, planting a tree, working on the recalcitrant irrigation system, skirting a fir tree. The projects vary. Not everyone is available every weekend. They only work when the weather is cooperative. And they have a lot of laughs doing it. Volunteer to join the LBC Workgroup.
The Snow Squad is a group of hardy volunteers who help keep out sidewalks and trails clear in most snowstorms. Some snow squad members always clear the same area, others are "floaters" who help out when and where they can. If the call goes out for a particular storm, squad members pitch in if they are around, if they are able, and if they feel like it. Volunteer to join the Snow Squad.
The board also appoints Officers, who are not directors, but homeowners with special skills who advise and assist the board on subjects like insurance, construction, IT, and the orientation of new homeowners. Each year the board publishes the List of Directors and Officers.
